Dear Myriad Clients,
We have been tracking recent wide-scale cyber-attacks using ransomware which automatically encrypts files on your PC (and shared drives) causing them to be corrupt unless you pay a fee to decrypt them. There is now another wide-scale attack spreading called Petya which is using the same tactics.
This is a reminder to be extremely vigilant when clicking on links websites and emails, especially when opening up attachments. Malicious emails tend to be from organizations masquerading as legitimate businesses (email spoofing) such as Amazon, Facebook, Banks, Delivery Services (ie: UPS, Purolator) to make people think they are legitimate.
As always, if you have any issues or questions please contact Myriad directly at [email protected] or
(604) 792-0670
Thank you,
Myriad Staff
