Tell us about yourself, your business, and how long have you known or worked with Myriad?
My name is Alex Eriksson. I’m the Director of Operations and Housing for Chilliwack Community Services. Chilliwack Community Services, or CCS as we call it, is a nearly 100-year-old social services agency delivering a twinkle-to-twilight spectrum full of services to the community of Chilliwack. I’ve been with the agency for four years now and working directly in my current role with Myriad for the last two and a half years.
Can you give us an example of a bad day turned into a good one with Myriad’s team help?
Any time there’s technological infrastructure that goes down, it can create a crisis. Given the nature of our work, we’re often dealing with many crises, from someone settling in Canada as a refugee to assisting a counseling client in a major crisis. Any time we can’t access our tech resources, that’s a huge issue. The response time from Myriad is exactly where we need it to be—quick and effective—and they get us back online is bad day made good.
In today’s digital world with cybersecurity issues, what worried you the most before working with Myriad, and how has Myriad helped solve that?
With Myriad, we’ve never had a major security compromise in nearly two decades. In terms of our technological systems, while there have been issues with other contractors, Myriad has stepped in quickly to ensure the integrity of our systems. Our biggest concerns are harassing emails, phishing attempts, infected files, and bad links. However, we haven’t faced significant issues, thanks to the quality of security Myriad provides.
What is your experience with Myriad when it comes to service speed, reliability, responsiveness, and quality of support?
Myriad offers a couple of tools that we heavily rely on, namely the ticketing portal, phone access, and email access. It’s always an ongoing conversation with your IT contractor about what your needs are and how quickly you need them. Myriad has always been receptive. If we need to revisit expectations and make sure we’re both on the same page, they ensure our users get the help they need and know how to best prioritize.
What advice would you give to someone considering a partnership with Myriad Technologies?
Like with any relationship, communication is key. Being clear on what your expectations are and asking for clear communication in return is hugely important. IT can be a super scary environment, with a lot of acronyms and weird words that make it seem like a secret society where you throw money in and get who knows what in return. Myriad has always been excellent at explaining things in plain language to the people they serve. For our users, who are obviously very social services-oriented, having clear explanations on why certain issues are happening and why certain services are necessary gives us the confidence to proceed with their recommendations.
How confident are you in Myriads’s ability to handle your business’s future needs and growth?
Myriad has been with us for nearly two decades at this point. They’ve been our IT support since we were half the size we are now. We’ve doubled in size, and I’m fully confident Myriad will be able to handle us if we double again.
